Leader in Training 13-15

The Leader in Training program at the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA runs for the week of March Break camp and for the 8 weeks as a Summer Camp. 
 
The March Break and Summer Camp are two separate programs with separate training dates.  All students receive leadership and camp training during a training session and then practice their skills during a week of camp. Summer students have the option to sign up for 2 weeks of camp.
 
All LITs can earn 46 volunteer hours and receive a ‘Certificate Of Completion’ for each week they help out with the camp. Each LIT is evaluated by their supervisor on a weekly basis to aid in improving their leadership skills.
 
LITs are given responsibilities within the camp, helping out the counselors, the children, and the animals.  Their commitment to these responsibilities is extremely important to the overall success of camp.
 
Little or no experience is necessary to apply for an LIT position.  We are looking for young people that are enthusiastic, committed, helpful, eager to learn, fun, respectful towards others and ready to make a camp a great experience for the kids.  LITs are included on all camp trips (summer camp only).
 
 
Ages: 13-15 years old
 
Cost: $80.00 per week. LITs can register for 1 or 2 weeks       
Application cannot be accepted without payment. Cost covers the training. The volunteer hours begin on the first day of camp.
 
Training:
These are mandatory training dates. There are no exceptions. Missed dates will mean that you are out of the program with no refund. Please note them on your calendar as there will be no reminder. LITs that sign up for a week of March Break and a week of summer camp must come to both training sessions.
