VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTON
| POSITION | Administration/Office Support |
| SUPERVISION | Administration/office support volunteers will work closely with the Administration Department team leaders on a variety of tasks. |
| TASK | To assist SPCA Administration staff with selected office support tasks including data entry (using a variety of computer programs), telephone reception, photo-copying, document collation, lottery support, mail, receipts and other clerical duties as assigned. |
| QUALIFICATIONS |

| SCREENING | All volunteers must complete the appropriate SPCA orientation and training sessions and provide at least two personal references and a police clearance check. |
| HOURS OF WORK | Up to 40 hours per week. Hours can be flexible within the general SPCA office routine, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. |
| EVALUATION | An evaluation interview will take place for each new volunteer after the first six months of service and thereafter, on an annual basis. |
ADMINISTRATION/OFFICE SUPPORT
GENERAL DUTIES
- To assist SPCA office staff with a variety of office support tasks as may be assigned
- Training will be provided as required particularly with respect to the computer programs
- Enter data accurately and efficiently
- Print donation receipts, thank you letters and cards
- Process credit cards monthly
- Open donation mail and tally donation amounts accurately
- Some telephone reception
- Photo-copying
- Document collation
- Envelope stuffing and mailing
- Collect money from donation boxes that are placed in various Hamilton and Burlington retail outlets
- Identify and place donation boxes in appropriate stores and other appropriate establishments
- Hours of work can be flexible within the general SPCA office hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm). However, shifts of at least two hours each either in the am or pm are preferred.
- Consistency, competence and reliability are key requirements of this volunteer opportunity, as well as an ability to take direction and work comfortably in a team setting.
