Mixed Breed, Small (under 24 lbs fully grown)/Mix
Jiminy Cricket is a shy girl that is full of energy. She would do best in a all adult home. She seems to have little understanding on how to appropriately interact with humans . She is good with routine and seems interested in people but hasn't built up the confidence to allow staff to pet her much. She will need someone with patience and experience with shy / under socialized dogs. She is an escape artist and can scale 6ft fences. She loves playing with other dogs and would do best in a home with a confident canine friend. These dogs were rescued from a very small house with over 150 other dogs. Most of them are very friendly and affectionate dogs but lack the social skills and training that you would expect from your average pet. They are not used to being alone and would do best in a home with another dog as a companion. Some behavior challenges you can expect to see with these dogs are; difficulty with housetraining, frequent marking or urinating on objects in the home, not easily accepting people, unable to interact appropriately with people, and/or becoming overly attached/separation anxiety. These dogs have never been walked on a leash or have had any obedience training. Some dogs may show obsessive-compulsive behaviors such as spinning, barking, chewing, digging, and object hoarding. These are all behaviors that are a result of them not getting enough attention and/or stimulation in their past lives.Adopting a pet is a big decision and it is our goal to help you find a perfect match between you and your new family member.
