Foxtrot spent a whopping 243 days of his young life in a shelter. Part of an unplanned litter, he was surrendered to the Timmins Humane Society when he was just 4 months old and was transferred to the HBSPCA one month later. All of his siblings were adopted, and we can tell you that this boy was VERY keen to have a home of his own.

Growing up in a shelter—even one infused with as much love and care as ours—is not ideal for any dog. Foxtrot was desperate for love and to give love, too. Then, on November 15, just two days before his first birthday, Foxtrot got his wish. He was adopted and will be celebrating in his furever home!

But his pal Deezle, is still waiting.

Deezle found himself at the HBSPCA when his previous family was no longer able to care for him due to the owner’s health. At just under 2 years old, this sweet pup’s heart is as big as his 130lb frame! He’s learning to walk nicely on a leash and to not jump up when he says hello, but we promise he’s working on it. Since he sometimes forgets his size, Deezle is looking for a household with no young children (we recommend family members 12 or older).

If you think Desmond would be the perfect addition to your family, contact us at adoptions@hbspca.com. If you know a family that can give him the loving life he deserves, please share.

And if you’re feeling generous, please donate. The cost of housing Foxtrot for 8 months (243 days!) is A LOT— housing, medical, staffing and the ability to provide him with enrichment all adds up. A gift of any amount will help the pets in our care.
