On November 29, join us in making the world a little bit better this holiday season – for pets and for people, too. Before you start your Black Friday and Cyber Monday spending, consider a donation that will make a significant impact on helping pets find furever homes in our community.
If you’re feeling generous this Tuesday (or any day of the week for that matter), the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA is investing 100% of Giving Tuesday funds into our foster program. Our shelter space is at capacity, and it’s imperative to us and our animal-loving hearts to ensure that all 200+ animals we support every day have the best opportunity to thrive while in our care.
Last year, we raised over $50,000 and this year, we have an incredible donor matching up to $25,000 to help us reach our goal of $75,000! Your donation on Giving Tuesday will help us to recruit and train foster home volunteers and provide valuable resources to support their oh-so-important work.
The more qualified foster homes we have, the more animals we can help rescue and rehome—like Gingersnap, a sweet orange tabby whose leg got caught in a Conibear trap. His leg had to be amputated (Thank you, Dr. Farr for your incredible medical care!) and he spent two weeks post-op in foster care, where thanks to the love and attention of his foster family, Gingersnap recovered beautifully. And—great news—he also found his forever home! Gingersnap has been adopted!
Our goal is for every shelter pet to be a success story, just like Gingersnap. And our foster program helps us to achieve this goal.
