We have pawsome news to share! Our brave and furry friend, Misty, has finally found her furever home.
Misty’s journey to wellness was nothing short of heroic, and it was all thanks to our dedicated and compassionate team of caregivers at the HBSPCA’s Companion Animal Hospital. When Misty first arrived, she was a new momma with a three-week-old pup and was in dire need of medical attention. Our team stayed by her side every day and worked tirelessly to nurse her back to health.
Misty was diagnosed with several conditions that needed urgent attention, including bilateral inguinal hernias, an umbilical hernia, and severe dental problems. It was no walk in the park, but with our staff’s unwavering support and Misty’s sheer determination, she finally began to heal from her long term pneumonia, dermatitis, and parasites.
Despite suffering from spondylosis and hip dysplasia, which will require lifelong pain management, Misty never gave up. And after 120 days in our care, she was finally ready for adoption. We couldn’t be happier to announce that she’s found her furever home!
As much as we love happy endings, it’s important to remember that Misty’s journey was not an easy or cheap one. Adoption fees alone cannot cover the full cost of the care that dogs like Misty require. The Shelter/Surgical Care Costs for Misty totaled $2,594.25, including everything from veterinary examinations to hospitalization, anesthetic induction, and even postoperative pain medication.
