Drag me Not - Dog Training Short Course with K9 Principles

Say goodbye to pulling, tugging, and tangled leashes! Our new Drag Me Not dog training workshop with K9 Principles is designed to help you and your canine companion walk together with confidence, calmness, and control.

Over the course of 4 weekly, 1-hour classes, you'll learn practical tools and positive training techniques to build a safe and enjoyable walking routine with your canine BFF. Whether your dog is new to leash training or just needs a refresher, this program is perfect for strengthening your bond with your dog, making daily walks a pleasure—not a struggle.

Eligibility

Vaccinations

We follow the recommended vaccination protocol from the Ontario Veterinary College. All dogs entering a group class must be up to date with rabies, parvovirus, distemper, and Bordetella (kennel cough). Puppies not old enough to receive certain vaccines are exempted. This ensures the safety and well-being of all dogs participating in the class. Vaccination records must be verified before starting the course.

Age

All dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age or older to join this program.

What to Expect

Weekly Training Sessions

Over 4 weeks, you and your dog will participate in hands-on training session led by experienced dog trainers. Each session focuses on improving leash-walking skills in your dog to avoid pulling, tugging, and on-leash reactivity.

Positive Reinforcement Techniques

We use positive reinforcement to guide your dog’s learning. You’ll learn techniques that encourage good behavior through rewards, making training an enjoyable experience for both you and your pet.

Interactive Learning Environment

Each session is interactive and engaging, allowing dogs to practice skills alongside other pets and owners. This helps your dog become comfortable with distractions, improving focus in different settings.

Strengthen Your Bond

This course goes beyond commands—it helps build trust, communication, and a deeper connection between you and your dog, making daily interactions smoother and more enjoyable.

What You’ll Learn:

How to choose and use effective walking tools (harnesses, leashes, etc.)

Step-by-step loose leash walking techniques using positive reinforcement

Managing distractions and building focus outdoors

Understanding canine body language and walking etiquette

How to troubleshoot common leash-related challenges
