When Survival Required More Than Medicine

An orphaned kitten rescue story: how one nursing mother cat helped save two vulnerable kittens at the HBSPCA.

What do you do when two tiny, two-week-old kittens arrive without their mother?

When these fragile kittens came into our care, they were far too young to survive without constant warmth, feeding, and comfort. They needed more than medical care. They needed a mother.

Our team hoped that Guppy - a caring and experienced mom already nursing her own four kittens - might be the perfect match. Thanks to you, we were able to safely introduce them and give these kittens the chance they deserved.

Guppy didn’t hesitate. She welcomed them in, grooming them, feeding them, and keeping them close.

Instead of struggling in desperate need, the kittens, now named Anchovy and Sardine, found a family and the comfort of full bellies.

Guppy gave them the warmth, care, and reassurance only a mother can—so they no longer had to face the world alone.

You helped Guppy become the mom these kittens needed.
